Hallo,
nur mal kurz am Rande, zur haltbarkeit des Flaschenverschlusses ( Kork ) im Seewasser.
Das eines meiner Hobbys ja die Aquaristik ist ( z.Z sieben Aquarien in Betrieb).
Ich hatte für eine kurze Zeit ein Nanobecken mit Meerwasser.
Dort wollte ich Kork als Träger für eine Pflanze verwenden, nach ca 4 Monaten löste sich der Kork in kleine Brösel auf und die Pflanze trieb so durchs Becken.
Gut, vielleicht ist Kork nicht gleich Kork.

I think there is a difference when cork is used for floating, of for sealing a bottle.
When used for floating, the water surrounds the cork, when used for sealing a bottle, only the top of the cork get in contact with the water, and not even constantly, but only when the bottle is totally under water.

What i don't know, is or seawater has a different effect on cork than fresh water.

Also the cork of the bottle i found was almost certanly sealed with red hot wax (the type they used to seal letters with)

I understand, i have been a long time around on internet (and even message boards even before internet was born). There are indeed a lot af fake's in the internet. I only was wondering why there where doubts around the bottle i found concidering the develoupments around the poster of the bottle that are also written in this topic.

If a posting like this was in the beginning of the topic, i could understand. Finding this bottle is 1 in a million after all.

is this the direct translation of "babelfish" or did you change something, that seemed not to be the right syntax? If it is the product of "babelfish" it is better then any translation software I ever knew,,,,,

Hi. Yes, it is the direct translation from Babelfish. My dad taught me a little German - like the song "O Tanenbaum", how to count a little, and the yummy cookies, Springerles. I wouldn't know good German syntax from wrong.
